Really Fat Cats

My cat is obese.
I’ve put her on diet cat food, and tried playing with her more, in hopes she’ll be more active.
However, all she is concerned with is food. She cries to be fed.
She will play, but not extensively. She looses interest and goes to search for a sunny window to lounge in.
Is there anything I can do to make her more active?

I have some big cats.Paul Newman,a 6 year old Ragdoll mix,weighs almost 19 lbs.Moby,who is a 4 year old domestic longhair with really huge feet,weighs 15 lbs.The rest of my cats,who range in age from 4 months to 19 years,weigh between 4 and 14 lbs.( I have 16 cats,and they are all fixed,except for three kittens who were abandoned and are not quite old enough to be fixed.) All of the cats eat both canned and dry food,with some cooked chicken and fish added. I was just curious as to what the average weight is for a pampered house cat.So,what does your cat weigh?
deltadawn -They are well take care of,but I think Paul is a bit TOO chubby! He is a couch potato! I had a “puker” once,and she took Centrine,Metronidazole,and slippery elm,and was on a bland diet of boiled hamburge and chicken,and wel-cooked rice,and also baby food meat.There are also dry cat foods for sensitive stomachs.Sucralfate is used for ulcers in humans.

deltadawn – has the cat been checked for reflux disease? It can be helped with Pepcid and other drugs like it.Here’s a link to a good website about it. There are 5 pages,and they take a while to load,so be patient. I hope it helps.
