Really Fat Cats

One of my friends has a stray cat that she has adopted and we don’t know how old he is, and she is scared that if she takes it to the vet, they will find a chip and have to give it back. The cat came up to the house and he is like really fat. Someone had to have lost him but she doesn’t want to give it back if it has a chip, but that’s beside the point. She wants to know how old he is and we don’t know how to. Any help?

hes a tabby not the orange kind the black n browny type. hes going to be one on april 27th

i have a black bombay cat and shes 2 years old, 3 in june, and my tabby isnt even 1 yet and he out weighs her and out grew her. im getting scared for him he only eats one can of fancy feast a day and we make sure he has dry food in his bowl at all times. he eats the cat really fast but he lets the dry food spread throughout the day.
why is my cat so fat? could it be in his genes?

hes an indoor cat my dad will NEVER let him out cuz one of our cats was abandoned so we kept her but she gave our other cat wormies and fleas

I used to have two cats but one of them was put down a few months ago due to not being able to pass a kidney stone. The one that we still have is only 4 years old. Ever since my cat died she’s become so annoying! D:
I love her to death and all but really, she won’t leave any of us alone. She only wants to play with this purple ribbon she loves, which involves one of us running around the house dragging it while she chases it. It’s okay for like half an hour but then it’s just extremely tiring. She doesn’t leave us alone at all. I think it’s because she’s lonely or because there’s no longer a mean fat cat controlling her. (lol it sounds like I dislike my late cat but in fact I love them both)
The problem is that we can’t get another cat right now because something just happened with my grandma’s arm or whatever and yeah we don’t have the money right now.

My mom says that we can get another cat around Christmas, but until then, do you guys have any suggestions on how to keep my cat entertained for now? She can’t go outside because she never learned how to use her claws and fight and it’d just be dangerous.
