Can we trade the welfare queen stereotype for the rich fat cat who pays no taxes stereotype?

I Might Be Showing Her My O Face asked:

Leftists insist there are no “welfare queens” who sit on the dole for an infinite period of time. I beg to differ, but OK, since we’re talking bogus stereotypes can we do away with the welfare queen and at the same time do away with the mythical “rich fat cat who pays no taxes”? The top 2% of income earners in America pay the vast majority of the taxes.

So, can we trade?

We don’t say that there are NO people defrauding the social welfare system. WE SAY that you should quit whining and complaining about those people and START REPORTING THEM. There is FAR too much hate and anger….and slurs and assumptions, but virtually NO reporting of these people. People defrauding the social welfare system make up less than 10% of the millions who use the system. The VAST majority are in legitimate need. Stop calling them names and report them already.
As for ‘rich fat cats who pay no taxes’…that is based on the FACT that we spend 8 times more on Corporate Welfare in the US than we do on social welfare….AND the FACT that, throughout the Bush decade, 57% of ALL US Corporations paid NO TAXES.

That sounds fair – just to save me a headache. But that’s like saying we’ll give up believing in ponies, if they stop believing in unicorns…..

Obviously you don’t understand the leftists well enough.

What they do is falsely accuse you and say that you should stop doing what they say you are doing. You point out the truth that you in fact have never done what they say you are doing and they call it politics.

We accuse them of something factual and they deny it but when it’s proven true then they say it’s just politics, both parties do it.

Their accusation of rich paying no taxes is only a smoke screen to make people believe that we are no better than them. They don’t insist that they themselves are good people but instead try to drag us down to their level.
