Do you think it fair that fat cats call themselves republicans when they are royalists?

BEAN asked:
Republicans were the party of Lincoln, favored democracy, and not the scornful elite of this day and age. That doesn’t describe the dirty rotten scoundrels who now call themselves republicans. but maybe you know better?

Just as fair as Democrats calling themselves Americans, Patriots, or troop supporters. Democrats are the party of John F. Kennedy, the adulterating, war starting president who got us into Vietnam where over 53,000 Americans were killed.
Communists would be more fitting. Don’t you think so?

Exactly. But Rodham Clinton seems to think that too and she is a Democrat, so I guess that means it comes in all sizes and body mass.

I’d like to add something to your question, but you seem to have covered the subject pretty well. Bravo.
I’ll just answer it, I guess. No, it’s not fair, bur “fair” has little or nothing to do with government and/or politics, in this cynical age.
Lincoln would be sick with shame and anger if he were exposed to today’s “republicans”.

Why do Democrats call themselves Democrats when they are nothing more than thieving socialists?
Democrats and liberals are losers. People who support them are losers. It is a simple fact of life.

Excessive wads of money are not necessary to be a Conservative….just a functioning brain.

I bet there were plenty of “fat cats” in Lincoln’s time who called themselves Republicans. Political ideology should define one’s party membership, not personal wealth.

I have decided we need a black President and it is not Obama. No, what we need is a powerful symbol of societal progress and justice. There is only one man that fits the bill: Alan Keyes. Keyes is the man who can save this rotten, sick and sinking society in a sea of debt dumped on the common man.
The burgeoning Ruling Class must be ousted before it is too late to save the nation.

Lest we forget, it was the Democrats who first tried the dynasty thing with the Kennedys. But the fates denied them a Kennedy II. Now they’re trying it again with the Clintons, hoping to follow the Bush example. Myself, I’m trough with dynasties of either party. I’d “write in” my dog before I’d vote for another Clinton or Bush!
