it depends, if it is active it will live long if it is not active it will live for a short period of time

That is a decent age, especially if it was fat. Most cats should live for around 14-15 years… Or so I heard.

What is normal for a 20lb cat….well the cat may have had diabetes which led to the shortened life span or other disorders. I had a 26lb cat that lived to be 15, he passed from cancer last year. So your answer is, maybe yes, maybe no.

20 pounds is a fat cat. I think 11 years is a long lifespan for a fat cat. Even Elvis did not live to be 70

well as you can tell by my user name i dont have a cat at the moment, thats because my cat died in december. my cat died at 22 He was really old. but it depends, if your cat died of a sickness like mine, it shouldnt matter what age,but if he just died, 11 seems a little young, i would say the average life span would be 13-17 years old
im soooo sorry about ur cat!

I had a cat that weighed 18 LBS and lived for 14 years with a heart murmur. I think it all depends on how much they love you and want to remain around you. They’re fighters.

Cats frequently live for 20 years or more. 15 – 16 years is closer to average. If a cat had an average build, weighed 20 lbs, and died at 11, then you can pretty safely assume that the owner’s irresponsible feeding contributed to the cat dieing at a relatively early age.

No, 11 isn’t a great age for a cat to live to. That’s the equivalent of a human dying at around 50.

Cats should live to at least 15 years old, anything less is disappointing. Yet another example of how overweight shortens lifespan. It also reduces quality of life while the cat is alive – they’re supposed to be active and able to jump and run.
