Why is my cat so skinny even though she has been dewormed?

Here Kitty Kitty asked:
She will NOT gain any weight. I gave her some worm medicine, but it did not help. The other cats are fat, but she is very very skinny. Btw, she is a stray cat that I am trying to tame. I can’t take her to the vet because she won’t let me catch her.
I have been letting this cat eat with my two healthy cats. Is this a bad idea? Can they catch something from her?

Well, the worms are probably still there. They are hard to kill. And if she is a stray, how much do you know she is really eating?

Well, it could be a few things. If she still had fleas after she was wormed, chances are she caught them again. Also stray cats tend to run around a lot more, so she may just be getting more excersize. If you’re still really worried, have the vet check her out. She may have a hyperactive thyroid.

they might be able to catch something, I would try to lure her with food and take her to the vet. If she is still skinny although you gave her worm medicine the worms are probably still there. Please be careful and try to catch her. Or call an ASPCA and they will come and catch her and take her to the vet. If you do that and she gets better, the nicest thing you could do for her is adopt her. She needs a home. And you seem very responsible. Thank you for caring for her. She deserves it.
Best wishes & good luck!
